Walleye is an open-source LanceDB server that keeps its write-ahead log in object storage and serves reads from a memory and disk cache. Lakeday runs it for you: you pick a size, and you get an instance with its own database name, its own storage and its own access tokens, reached at db.lakeday.ai. You never run a server, patch it or back it up.

These pages cover the service: signing up, creating and sizing instances, people and tokens, and what it costs. How Walleye itself works, and every call the SDKs can make, is in the Walleye documentation. It is the same server, so all of it applies here.
